LOS ANGELES – April 1, 2010 – Boingo Wireless, the global leader in WiFi, today announced it will give away one million free Wi-Fi credits in support of its new “Boingo Wi-Fi Credits” application that allows iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad users to purchase one-hour credits of Wi-Fi directly from their Apple iTunes account.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our new Boingo app,” said Dawn Callahan, vice president of marketing for Boingo Wireless. “And we could think of no better way to keep the excitement going than by giving away a buttload of free Wi-Fi.”
To qualify for the one million free Wi-Fi credits, a user simply needs to tattoo a permanent Boingo logo somewhere on their body.
“We’re not dictating where the Boingo tattoo should go,” said Callahan. “Just that it should be spelled correctly, and we strongly recommend that the tattoo artist use a clean needle.”
This wouldn’t be the first time someone got inked with the Boingo logo. Boingo employees are famously loyal to the company and many sport the logo on their person. A video featuring Boingo employee tattoos can be seen at: www.boingo.com/blog.
The million Wi-Fi credits may be used at any of the more than 125,000 Boingo hotspots worldwide. For those consumers not interested in permanently declaring their love for Boingo in ink, the Boingo Wi-Fi Credits software application is available for download through Apple’s iTunes store. Everyone receives a free one-hour Wi-Fi credit just for downloading the app and registering a valid email address.
Complete contest rules can be found at www.boingo.com/blog.
