SANTA MONICA, CA (5 January 2011) – Outside magazine calls it, “One of the 50 Most Amazing Trips in the World,” Peter Greenberg says that, “Unlike The Amazing Race, this challenge is more about your ability to connect with cultures,” while NationalGeographic.com says the travel competition is, “like Survivor, The Amazing Race and the Eco-Challenge all rolled into one except with much more cultural interaction.”
The 7th annual Global Scavenger Hunt does bring back the romance of travel and is designed to test Indiana Jones-like participants travel IQ, while traveling to at least 10 countries performing highly participatory, exciting and authentic cultural scavenges but the deadline for entry for the 2011 event is January 17th.
The around-the-world travel adventure competition crowns The World’s Greatest Travelers and also serves as a travel-a-thon of sorts raising funds for some great international humanitarian causes.
Here’s what a few former travelers have said: “It is an Amazing Race for regular people!” said one. “It’s like Christmas and looking forward to opening another present each day and not knowing what it will be”, said another, “A cross between Abercrombie & Kent and Lonely Planet,” was said; and finally, “I found The Blind Date with the World aspect just a wonderful way to let go and see the world in a whole new light”.
