Phillip Dane Productions is launching a monthly “Four Lot Flea” that will showcase local designers and craft artists on the 4th Sunday of every month starting July 28, 2013
(Los Angeles, CA) – Phillip Dane Productions is launching an inventive and unique weekend event this summer that brings together the elements of a bloc party, flea market, and food festival. Located in the Historic Core of Downtown Los Angeles, Phillip Dane has christened it Downtown Flea. The four lot city marketplace will showcase up to 400 local indie designers and crafts people; emphasizing unique vintage, collectible and antique dealers.
“The Flea will take “Etsy” type designers from the web and showcase them in one distinct location,” Dane explains. “As far as I know, this event is the first of its kind to have a social media community within its website for the vendors: every seller will have their own url on DTFlea.com – allowing venders to showcase their products, write blog posts, connect with other venders, and bring awareness to their business.”
Downtown Los Angeles has become a frequented hot spot by Angelenos; for the area’s high end loft residential market, gourmet restaurant scene, hip bars and much more. To support this lively scene, Dane has chosen to give Los Angeles the Downtown Flea that will not only feature hundreds of vintage dealers, talented designers and creative crafts people but also a variety of food truck options, popular local bands, and a private VIP ‘chill zone’. There will also be a rock climbing wall to entertain the kids, and for those who would rather fly than drive, the Downtown Flea even features a helicopter landing pad located on top of its adjacent parking structure.
Happening on the 4th Sunday of every month, the Downtown Flea in the Historic Core will be located in four parking lots located between 2nd and 4th Main to Broadway. The market is the ideal way to spend a Sunday – meeting up with friends and spending the day shopping, eating and listening to live music. The four lots are:
Yellow Lot: 246 S. Spring Street
Purple Lot: 253 S. Main Street
Red Lot: 243 S. Spring Street
Green Lot: 236 S. Spring Street
To encourage visitors to check out all four lots, Downtown Flea has created a Scavenger Hunt for its vintage-seeking enthusiasts. To join, guests visit the Downtown Flea Ticket Booth where they receive a wristband, handout with the lot layout, and a listing of the vendors participating in the hunt. Inside the handout, there will be a list of free items that Scavenger Hunt participants will have to locate and collect (typically 2 items from each lot). Once they have collected all of the giveaways, they deliver the goods to the ‘Hunt Station’. The first 20 people to successfully complete the “DT Flea Hunt” will be rewarded with $20 in FleaBucks that can be used at all participating booths (yes, it’s free Flea money!). These winners, and everyone who collects all the items, will be automatically added to the Hunt Quarterly Give Away with the chance to win an iPad, discounts to local businesses, free movie passes and much more!
Admission cost is $5, which allows you access all four lots! Tickets may be purchased on location at the ticket booth. VIP tickets are extra and feature executive restrooms, complimentary beverages and lounge seating. The Downtown Flea opens at 10a.m. and ends at 4p.m. Ample parking is available at Joe’s six story structure located between 2nd and 3rd on Spring Street.
