1. Fall Garden Strolls and Wine Tastings at Middleton Place
Wednesdays from September 15 – October 27, 2021
Sip and stroll a different garden location each week while sampling old and new world wines at Middleton Place, a member of the Charleston Heritage Federation. Built in 1755, this National Historic Landmark is home to the nation’s oldest landscaped gardens and amidst these gorgeous grounds and exquisitely preserved historic sites, guests have an opportunity to learn about both this essential and vibrant part of the Charleston and American experience and the mission of understanding and positive change the Middleton Place Foundation promotes.
2. The Hutchinson House, Edisto Island Walking Tour
November 13, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Take a short drive over to Edisto Island for a walking tour of the Hutchinson House, a rare, intact freedman’s house built around 1885 by Henry Hutchinson with the help of several other freedmen after the Civil War. This historic home was recently restored by the Edisto Island Open Land Trust, is sponsored by the Drayton Hall Preservation Trust and will serve as a museum and community gathering place once fully opened to the public.
3. The Fall Tours & Master Series by the Preservation Society
October 7 – November 6, 2021
The Preservation Society of Charleston’s Fall Tours & Master Series walking tours offer guests rich and rare glimpses into this beloved historic city. Interpreted by architects, historians, preservationists and local storytellers, these tours will take place Tuesdays-Saturdays between October 7 and November 6, 2021. With this year’s lineup of Fall Tours & Master Series events, the Preservation Society of Charleston, a member of the Charleston Heritage Federation, hopes to spark interest in the city’s rich and storied past, shine a light on the pressing issues relevant to Charleston and showcase the remarkable architecture, gardens, and neighborhoods in and around the city.
4. Search for Wildlife on the Water at Wild Dunes Resort
Hop aboard a charter boat with Wild Dunes Resort and enjoy the Osprey Experience with friends or family. Wildlife sightings are almost guaranteed, and the views of the marshes are unparalleled. For the extra-adventurous guests, skeet shooting off the back of the boat is also available along with a food and beverage add-on. Choose the Sunset Dolphin Cruise along the Lowcountry coast to take in the beautiful scenery and spot bottlenose dolphins playing in the quiet waters.

Request a table on the shaded front porch patio to admire the bustling market across the street and relax in the calming Charleston breeze with a mimosa in hand.
