Immediate Release…Buena Park, California – 2016 marks an important milestone for three of Buena Park’s major attractions that helped the once small farming town blossom into one of Southern California’s most popular tourism destinations. Where boysenberry fields once dominated now grows family friendly attractions, interactive dinner shows and award-winning restaurants.
Knott’s Berry Farm
This summer Knott’s will be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Ghost Town in a big way. Born out of necessity, Ghost Town was originally built by Walter Knott to entertain visitors waiting in line for Mrs. Knott’s famous fried chicken. As the restaurant’s popularity continued to grow, Walter added rides and entertainment making it the first theme park in the Country. To honor this history, Knott’s has refurbished the Calico Mine Ride and Tiber Mountain Log Ride, the first two attractions to grace the theme park. From May 27th through September 5th, visitors can experience Ghost Town Alive by becoming part of the story that unfolds on the streets. For the first time, guest can walk into the peek-ins and interact with the characters by playing poker with the sheriff, getting gossip from the barber and pledging ones allegiance to the bandits. The story will conclude every night with a big hoedown at the new Calico Stage. In June, Knott’s will be introducing a completely refurbished Ghostrider, the longest, tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster on the West Coast. As an homage to the chicken dinner and boysenberry pie that started it all, Mrs. Knott’s is going through its first major update since it originally opened in 1934. The update will be completed in Spring of 2016 and include outdoor seating, a full bar and new décor to match Cordelia Knott’s kitchen.
Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament
30 years ago this summer, Medieval Times began to welcome royal visitors to their Buena Park castle. The king is sparing no expense for this monumental milestone and has assembled discounted packages perfect for any occasion. The royal decree has declared that they will offer reduced rates as well as VIP seating, photos and cheering banners for the remainder of 2016.
Pirate’s Dinner Adventure
Captain Sebastian the Black and his band of ruthless pirate’s put an “X” on Buena Park ten years ago. The Captain has deemed this victory worthy of celebration and changed the menu accordingly! Now serving shrimp and vegetable skewers with every meal along with bottomless roasted quarter chicken. For a little extra treasure, visitors can now upgrade to a lobster dinner that’s served with a complimentary glass of Champagne or for a special occasion, Landlubbers can upgrade to a slice of decadent triple chocolate cake with their meal.
