While it’s fun to gather around with friends and family to watch New Year’s celebrations on television and countdown to your timezone’s entry into the New Year, some people like to take it to the next level. There are several amazing places to enjoy the ringing in of the New Year and it just so happens that JustFly’s list of top holiday destinations includes many of them. I decided to take a look at my favourite places to celebrate the New Year and see where it compares with the JustFly list.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Sin City, a great place to kick off your New Year’s resolutions. Or, maybe they can wait a day. Hundreds of thousands of people gather in Las Vegas to ring in the New Year. In a town that is famous for partying, they cut no corners when it comes to the biggest party of the year, launching huge fireworks displays and hosting massive parties without limits in the streets of Las Vegas. While it is hands down my favourite place to ring in the New Year, JustFly customers disagree, with Las Vegas ranking as the 10th most popular New Year’s destination.
Los Angeles, California
A surprise choice perhaps to some, but Los Angeles, and all the glitz and glamour that comes with a Hollywood New Year’s experience is a my second choice for New Year’s Eve. Whether it is experiencing Los Angele’s killer bar scene, or watching fireworks and touring some of the most famous neighbourhoods in America, Los Angeles provides a very unique and star-studded New Year’s Eve experience.
New York City, New York
And finally, the city that has come to define New Year’s Eve. New York City, The Big Apple, The City That Never Sleeps. People have flocked to New York to experience watching the famous ball drop in Times Square. The official start of the New Year in the United States, New York City is the town that everyone in North America follows to ring in the New Year. Whether right there in Times Square, or at home with friends, we have all been in that moment, counting down, and waiting on the calendar to flip.
New Year’s is a universally celebrated event in the Western World. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, New Year’s is a unifying event that has, does, and will bring friends and family together for generations to come.
