Somewhere in the world the day is coming to an end, and as they say, when the sun goes down the freaks come out. So whether or not you consider yourself a “freak”, I’m sure you, just like every other young and free spirited human being, enjoy a good old night on the town.
Ever since I was in my late teens, which wasn’t as long ago as some of you might imagine, my favorite city for its night life has been Belgrade. Located in Easter Europe, Serbia offers many different rural towns and semi modern cities. However, none compare to its exciting capital, Belgrade. Not only is it a city that never sleeps, but it’s night life attractions are actually very reasonably priced. This is probably the main reason for its growing popularity among young folks in search of a good time that wont leave a hole in their wallets.
Getting there and around town
For the past few years I have spent my summer nights living it up in the city of Belgrade. My closest friends and I always plan our flights using Tripscan, a super beneficial website that compares flight itineraries and prices for you. As a frequent traveler, I can confidently say that Tripscan has generated some of the best options for us, saving us both time and money.
Belgrades most exclusive night clubs are scattered throughout the city, so no matter what area you end up in, you are bound to find a party near by. Taxi services as well buses and trams make transportation a breeze, especially for those planing on having a drink or two (or three, or so on. Don’t worry I don’t judge).
So we made it, what now?
Once you have arrived to the beautiful city of Belgrade, the first night calls for a celebration! And what better way to celebrate a long flight than by popping open a bottle of champagne in one of Belgrades floating river clubs (called splav or splavovi). Thats right, Belgrade opens clubs during the summer seasons, beginning In May, on its massive rivers Sava and Dunab. Depending on your style, you can chose from nearly twenty different floating clubs.
Freestyler, a favorite among tourist, is a highly energized club packed from Monday to Sunday night. This club holds a pretty flexible dress code compared to some of the others, so my only suggestion would be to avoid sports wear unless its a foam party night, which in that case feel free to show up in your favorite swimsuit.
As for the music selection, Freestyler puts on a variety of music depending on the day of the week including House, Hip-Hop, Disco, and R’n’B. Locals tend to most occupy Freestyler on Thursday nights when the club plays 90’s hits.
No matter what your looking for in your night life, Belgrade has it all! I guarantee it.
