My name is Barb Harmon and I am a traveler, in many ways, like many of us. While I am not a new blogger (I started in 2007 with The French Elements) this is a new blog.

The title of my new site, Chasing The Unexpected, says it all. The articles I’m going to publish here will stem from my travels (first and foremost!), a thorough research, and my very personal feelings about places, peoples, traditions. Since one of my biggest passions is photography, I will publish here a wider range of high-resolution photos to accompany the writing.

Marbree was bitten by the travel bug at the age of 15 when her parents let her join a People to People trip to Europe. Although Jen enjoyed her trip to France with her high school French class, travel wasnt a regular part of her life until she met Marbree. Still a travel blog but today, Chasing the Unknown is also home to her business: customized travel planning for busy professionals, educated consumers, and anyone who needs a vacation.

Im Cristina, a 20-something TV journo who stopped chasing news deadlines to chase the globe. Chasing Travel is the experiential and local travel blog focusing on authentic, local experiences, and slow travel. Eat, feel, travel like a local.

I was born in Brazil but grew up in Florida for most of my life. I’m a lover of life, with an incurable case of wanderlust. I love music, art, design, animals, wine, food, fitness (just to balance out my love of desserts & wine), scuba, and adventures outdoors!

My sick need (not desire) to travel. This world is a lot bigger than what we could ever imagine! I say, why not discover it?

I’m the typical college educated, smart, funny, caring, hard-working girl (by girl, I mean 40-year-old woman) who works a 9-5 job and is wildly unhappy living the status quo. My deepest desire and most passionate dream is to figure out a way to travel and make a living. I’m equally passionate about budget (since I’m broke) and alternative (since I believe in taking the ‘road less traveled’) travel.
