Originally from different parts of Connecticut, Jimmy and Steph met in Brooklyn, NYC at the beginning of 2015. To make a long story short, we immediately realized we both had a common passion to see the world, and made our first trek through Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. Since then our wanderlust has only grown stronger:

The Urban Traveler was created out of my love of planning, my love of experiences and my love of travel. I’m a 30 something year old Canadian raised by the influences of parents from Europe and from the West Indies. I grew up with Synchronized swimming, Sinterklaas and Soca. A Prime Minister, Poffertjes and the Pan. I am the product of many cultures and I am so very lucky for it.

I cannot imagine life without travel. This blog hopes to convey some of that passion, to inspire you to spread your wings. This is home to some of my journeys. This is what I saw.

I'm Fernando. I live in Madrid, but I also lived and worked in France and Scotland for almost 7 years, which is probably a sign of my long-standing curiosity about different cultures.
