I'm Deni Verklan, a Canadian freelance journalist and blogger with a passion for travel, photography, writing, and gluten-free & plant-based foods. (Though that last one is more of a necessity.) The Full-Time Tourist is a travel blog for those who love to travel, but want to stick to a budget, and for those traveling with food allergies/dietary restrictions.

The Gal-ivanter is the alias for me! Madeline Quigley, the founder of this website. I am a Pittsburgh, PA, USA native and travel enthusiast. I also have a passion for photography, traveling, and telling others all about it....did anyone ask? We aren't sure.

After five years of working behind a desk, I started to get that uncomfortable feeling in the pit of my stomach, you know, the kind you get when you know you’re not supposed to be where you are and I wondered to myself, “Is this what I’m going to do for the rest of my life?” So I quit my job and decided to travel to somewhere new and learn to be a world traveller.
