we're Charlie and Kristina and we love to travel. We love travel so much we started Maptrotting.com to inspire you to work less and travel more. After exploring our own 'back yard' of Great Britain for many years, we're now location independent, blogging our way around the world.

This space is where my love of maps and travel come together. I want to be able to share my passion for photography and traveling to hopefully inspire you with the beauty out there in the world (especially to get you to go out there and travel!). In addition, with my background in International Relations, I want to be able to create a space to talk about my personal projects and cool organizations that I have had the privilege to be a part of in my life goals of making a positive difference in the world.

I’ve been self-employed for over a decade and have been traveling since 1999, although in the beginning it was on a part-time basis, usually on two to three month stints outside of the U.S. I left all that behind in January of 2008 and transitioned into a permanent expat, also known as a digital nomad. I specialize in immersion travel and helping others enjoy absolute freedom and an early retirement through the expat lifestyle.
