This spacious mid-sized ship can support a small town at times – with capacity for up to approximately 2,100 passengers and over 900 crew. While that is a lot of people the ship is sizable so that while on board it never feels to crowded (with perhaps at times the exception of the pool area on the top deck). The ship offers a wide variety of activities for the entire family, one will not be board when on board!
Entertainment and music is a big part of the evening experience – a main stage often features performers and musicians while certain lounges and bars also offer their own live entertainment. A full service spa is one of the more popular areas on the ship as is the casino during the evenings. Special gala nights are offered for those who want to dress in their finest – and some certainly do this with suit and tuxedos. However those who do not want to participate in the formal wear can also do so – spending their time in the more casual parts of the ship during these particular evenings.
And that is just the on board services – when the ship is in dock Holland America Line uses local tour operators to provide a variety of experiences including cultural, historical (where applicable) and a number of outdoor activities. Some of the more memorable Caribbean on shore experiences include a Helicopter ride over Grand Turk (Turks & Caicos), a visit to the private island, Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas and a rain forest walk in El Yunque, Puerto Rico.

Very good article, Dave. We enjoyed the info regarding Holland America’s (HA) ‘EURODAM’. Maybe, we’ll be on a future cruise on the ‘EURODAM,’ because we’ve been on other Holland America ships including the ‘AMSTERDAM’ for its world cruise. We’ve been on maybe 20 + cruises. HA’s world cruise was one of the best ever featuring everything you mention in your article & more.
