– LA County Fair (Los Angeles)
The LA County Fair has been an annual event for over 90 years. As expected this is a large event (over a million attend annually) – you would expect nothing less from the population of LA and surrounding county’s. Since its inception in 1922, the fair has been held in the same location every year since. The timing is good – typical county fairs are usually held in the heart of the summer. The Fairplex in Pomona is the site of the fair for 30 days, every September. This is not a small area – well over 500 acres are contained within the Fairplex – so expect to do a bunch of walking. One needs nearly all day to explore – from rides and games to farm exhibits, to artwork, to special exhibits – and many pavilions housing “shopping”. There is plenty here to keep a family of all ages well occupied and entertained.
As with most fairs the food is fair. Giant hot dogs, giant turkey sticks, plenty of ice cream are easily found.
