Ariel – cool, thanks for the tips. I’ll check out that hostel next time I’m in Buenos Aires – I was in Argentina last month for the 2nd time – mostly around the Foz Iguazu area. We had a great time in BA and hit most of the items on your list.

Dave

I am going to Peru this month (my 7th trip to this fascinating country) – I would not hesitate to travel most anywhere in the world right now as the media as with SARS has completely and utterly blown the swine flu out of proportion.
In fact this is even a better time to travel as people without brains cancel their travel plans and free up space on the plane and in hotels and forces hotels to lower their costs. Some of the best deals I found in Asia were right in the middle of the SARS epidemic.
In response to the best time of the travel, there is no “best time” to travel to Peru as because Peru is so varied geographically it really depends on the location you will be visiting. If you are going to the mountains the “best” season or rather, dry season is from May through September – clear days warmer weather. This time of year parts of the coast can be socked in with the annoying always dark fog. The jungle can be warm regardless of the time of year.

Singapore is relatively close to the equator therefor a tropical environment year round. The temperatures don’t vary too much – I would expect highs in the low 30’s C and lows maybe around 25 or 26 C.
I was there in January and wrote this article:

Hope that helps.

February 15, 2009 at 9:37 pm in reply to: 4 Spare Seats Travelling by Road Kenya to South Africa in 10days #31290Oh how I wish I was doing this trip – this sounds like a lot of fun. I won’t be in Africa for at least another year. If you guys ever need a place to crash in California, drop me a note.

Dave
Thanks for posting this link – for some reason I did not have you listed under our Resources >> Tours >> Limousine Tours section on my Napa site, so I have just added your link there.
I’ve been visiting Napa Wineries for the last 3 years (almost a full time job!) and have been writing reviews. You can check out my progress here: http://www.napawineproject.com
Keep up the good work and bringing people to the valley 🙂

Dave
I enjoyed eastern Africa – espcially the safari in the Serenghetti. You can make your reservations on site – probably in Arusha as it will be much cheaper for you than reserving over the net. Also South Africa has a variety of geographical highlights – Botswana is also supposed to be beautiful.
Egypt is next on my list.Regards,
Dave
Just got back from Bangladesh – amazing country full of really nice people. VERY few tourists every go to this country and perhaps not many people from ‘western’ countries can even identify its location on the map.
There are some highlights among the crazy madness of the traffic in Dhaka including old Dhaka, some shopping, the river, the National Museum, the Pink Palace and more.
The Sundarbans are the world’s largest mangrove swamp and these are worth visiting if you have the time. The Royal Bengal tiger still lives in these swamps and if you are very lucky you may be able to see one.
I will post several journals about my time in Bangladesh in the coming weeks.
Regards,
Dave
