Whenever you plan to travel and decide to purchase insurance MAKE SURE THE COMPANY YOU PURCHASE IT FROM IS NOT FROM TRIP ASSURED!!! 😡

Stay away or find another insurance company. I purchase insurance from them for an important meeting. The airline cancelled my flight. By this I wasnt able to attend my meeting and it didnt make any sense flying out so I called the insurance company and provided the paperwork even a letter from the airline indicating the flight was cancelled. To make a long story short, I had LOT’S of problems and am not going to be reimbursed for my hotel charges. 🙁 So I am out $800.00!

According to Trip Assured if your airline cancels your flight and reschedules it for the following day (more than 10 hours) they, Trip Assure, considers that a delay NOT A CANCELLATION and you WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!!

So stay clear from that travel insurance company! I AM NOT HAPPY AND DONT WANT ANYONE BEING RIPPED OFF AS I WAS!

I was so sorry to hear about the problems that you encountered with this scam company. Unfortunately, I was also cheated out of several thousand dollars that I couldn’t afford to lose last year! On the bright side, do you know that in the last several months, the states of North Carolina, Michigan, Texas and Tennessee (Trip Assured’s home state) have issued Cease and Desist Orders against the company? Do you know that when the head scum, Mr. Johnson, recruits new travel agents, he doesn’t even tell them that in most states, they need an insurance agent license to sell his shlock “insurance”? Do you know that he pays his travel agents 40% commission to sell his garbage product? Do you know why? HE DOESN’T PAY ANY CLAIMS!

Spread the word about this guy. Tell anyone you know who travels or sells travel products to do a http://www.google.com or http://www.yahoo.com search on “Trip Assured”. The search will tell them all that they have to know.

The name given by one of my friends, “Rip Assured” tells the whole story. They DO NOT pay claims. I know a half-dozen people who have had legitimate claims and this company seems to find all kinds of excuses not to pay. When you challenge them, they will make up excuses and if you keep pressing the owner, Mr. McKinley will threaten you. I know they have been banned in four states. Last week an agent wanted to book the company for a client and I told her to type in “Trip Assured” in Google. There were more negative links than Al Qaeda! The word is out on the internet, stay away no matter what commission you are offered. Your agency will be in jeopardy if the client sues you because Mr. McKinley won’t pay and you will be stuck paying or losing your reputation as a result of this schlock outfit in Tennessee.

…not to mention the possibility that if you sold the product without an insurance agent’s license, you may have committed a felony and could go to jail; which could be more serious than the loss of your business and reputation.

Travel insurance is always a good idea. Try a reputable company like TravelSafe – http://www.travelsafe.com

I just called up my bank and took what they offered me for my last trip to Costa Rica. If they are a reputable bank you should be fine. That sucks about that 10 day clause.
