niknakWell all I am planning a round the world trip and was looking for some advice for the first stint which is asia. I will be either flying to Singapore and traveling over land to Beijing or flying to Beijing and traveling by land to Singapore. Has anyone done this? If so would you have a particular route to go and places to see.
Cheers Niall
Be sure to visit Laos, Cambodia (Angkor Wat), Vietnam – both the north and south, Philippines, and of course Thailand. If you have any specific questions about any of those countries let me now.
Will you be visiting Indonesia¿ – I´ll be there later this year and am looking forward to that trip.
Regards,
Dave
lucybhageeruttyHi Niall,
I’ve spent a fair bit of ime in China, if youve not been there before it can be really tricky as not too many people speak anything other than chinese. A translator is really useful or as soon as you make a friend who you can comunicate with, get their cell number then if you get into any awkward moments you can call thm so they can act as translator. You can but sim cards that cover all of china.
The Philippines is my favourite country in the world, the people are so friendly, it is so cheap to travel an every island is a gem, please dont miss it out.
Hope that helps,
Lucy

ok,my best advice is to go Beijing first and get from there to Singapore and since Singapore is the hub for asia you can get to all places from there and all the best for your journey
GrigoHi, welcome to China!
I am planning a trip to Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan province early Oct. I believe Jiuzhaigou is one of the most beautiful places in China, if you can avoid the crowds. 🙂 I will update you more about my trip.
Another place I will recommend is Yangshuo in Guangxi province (in south China). You might hear Guilin. Yangshuo is a small town around 40 km away from Guilin, but not the same. It is more for backpackers and less for tourism. If you are seeking some adventures in China, I will strongly recommend Yangshuo. Another beautiful place you will regret if you don’t go. :p
Ok. Have fun in China!
