Red Hostel Montevido Uruguay
Because my wife is from Thailand, Uruguay requires her to make reservations at a hotel somewhere in Uruguay before they will even think about beginning the process to give her a visa to visit Uruguay. Talk about a disaster for those who have no set plans and are on the road months at a time.
So, we made reservations at the Red Hostel in Montevideo and they confirmed our reservation by sending an email. The Uruguay embassy called them and the Red Hostel showed no reservations for myself or my wife. Terrible. We tried to contact the Red Hostel but have had no luck and no replies to any emails we sent them. We visited the Uruguay embassy in Buenos Aires but they were extremely unhelpful.
I have not stayed at this hostel so I cannot recommend their actual physical accomodations – however based on their bad service to date, I cannot in all honesty recommend staying at the Red Hostel in Uruguay.
Regards,
~ Dave
