😡 Just wondering if anyone else has had any problems with this Bus Company. I just returned from Central America and used them several times and had the following problems. Their website is: http://www.ticabus.com
1. They don´t accept credit cards. For being a major International bus company serving much of Central America, not accepting credit cards is really not right. Its not like they are one of the local bus companies, this is an International Company. Perhaps some of their other International offices accept credit cards, but I´ve seen no information to the contrary regarding this.
2. They don´t appear to have any overnight bus service. I´ve taken buses around the world and many offer overnight buses, not this company. A waste of an entire day if you have to take any trips 7 hours or longer. I guess this partly might have to due with crossing borders?
3. Their Managua office is a joke. They have 3 people standing around watching one guy service customers in which the line is out the door. People in line were complaining about this.
4. They make you check in again at their main office and if you do not check in, and try to board the bus they make you return to the office for check in. This makes no sense, and is another example of their inefficiancies as the customer already has the ticket and should simply be allowed to board the bus.
5. Their buses seem to have only one setting for their air conditioning – that setting is ´sub zero´ there were people complaining on the bus to the driver about how terribly cold it was and he just ignored them and didn´t change the temperature.
6. We were turned away at the Nicaraguan border because of a visa problem with my wife’s visa even though she had the C4 visa in her passport and the Honduran Embassy in SF told us there would be no problem with her visa for intercountry travel between the 4 C4 countries, Nic, Hond, El Sal, and Guat. We had to return to Teguz 4 hours back on the slow bus. We went to the Ticabus station in Teguz and they refused to refund even partially Nongnart´s ticket and mine as my continuing was not even a migration problem. They said they could *not* consider a refund unless we had our orignal ticket. The ticubus staff and driver made no point to tell us this when they told us to get off the bus at the border.
I know there are alternative Central American International bus companies such as Transnica and King Quality Bus. I will be sure to check those out for transporation needs next time I am in Central America.

ultimatewe just rode the tica bus from tapachula to managua and from san jose, costa rica to tapachula, mexico. it was totally disgusting with noisy horrid videos all day long! we certainly wrote to them and told them to write to us when they have a real bus service where on can see the surroundings or talk with others.
