AllisonVacations can really drain the old pocketbook. A fried of mine told me about this great deal on developing digital photos, and I thought I’d pass it along.
Kinkos has this new digital photo deal? They have Sony PictureStations that print out 4 x 6s, 8 x 10s, a CD, etc. for like $14 bucks. You can check it out at: http://www.kinkos.com/photo/.
Let me know what you think. I believe there are only a couple of weeks left…it ends January 31. It saved this poor college kid some money!
DaveI also have used the photo center through Walmart (24cents/4″x6″ print) – many companies are doing this these days. You submit your photos electronically via the web and they will ship them directly to your house. This way you only submit and pay for the photos that you WANT!
There are also a couple of neat “photo sharing” sites. This page lists several: http://www.convivial.com/pages/ephoto_sharing_sites.html
Fotki seems nice – lots of features; nice slideshow; can view photo at full size if you want (very nice feature!); more of a community feel since you can browse other public folders; less commercial than Shutterfly; shows image date (settings used on digital camera when photo taken) http://www.fotki.com
Shutterfly – very straight forward way to upload; not too many features; nice slideshow; too commercial; best for extreme beginners; more complicated for sharing pics
