Fed UpBEDBUG NIGHTMARE!
I stayed at the Vagabond Inn Executive in Hollywood California in December with a friend. We awoke to bugs in the bed and bite marks on our bodies. We complained to the hotel manager…frankly he was not concerned, he shrugged his shoulders and and indicated he didn’t care and there was nothing he WOULD do about it.
We had no idea what the bugs were but we were glad to get out of the very BUGGY Vagabond Inn.
My friend was having a severe allergic reaction to the bug bites and her hands were swelling, we showed the manager her hands…no concern. He just did NOT care.
Days after we arrived home, I started being bit in my home…it turns out the bugs where bedbugs and they had crawled into my suitcase. They feed on human blood when you sleep (possibly transmitting disease) and travel in suitcases from buggy hotels and then infest your home.
At the very least this has been a nightmare for 5 months!! I have had my home professionally exterminated several times (bedbugs are hard to get rid of).
I have lost thousands of dollars in ruined furniture, rugs, bedding and clothing.
The physical and mental toll has been costly. I’ve spent months without sleep, I’ve been under a physician’s care for the bug bites, the loss of sleep and anxiety.
I contacted the Manager of the Vagabond Inn Hollywood when I discovered the bugs had infested my home from his motel, only days after returning home. At first he said he did not remember us speaking on the phone from my motel room the morning I checked out to complain about the bugs.
He also said he didn’t remember my friend and I speaking with him again in person when we checked out. We spoke with him twice about bugs and being bitten in his motel, The Vagabond Inn Executive, Hollywood! And now only days later he doesn’t remember? How convenient.
When I asked to speak with the owner of the motel or someone over him, he suddenly remembered our conversation. He said, “Oh yeah, I remember now…but there is nothing I can do to help you.” I asked for the owners name again, and he refused to give me any information… he was nasty with me, withholding and dishonest! And he said, “I am not telling you anything, I am not giving you any information.”
You know what they say, “Those who have nothing to hide…hide nothing.”
I did call the Vagabond Inn Corporation who offered me a free nights stay (the next time I am in California) for my trouble. Are they kidding?
The corporate office said there was nothing they could do since the Vagabond Inns are franchises and each franchise is responsible for how they manage their motel.
Additionally, The Vagabond Inn Hollywood was not exactly cheap for a week nights stay at $85 per night plus some sort of utilites fee of $6. The minimum I expected was a clean, safe environment. I did not get that.
With all of my complaints…I’ve been told I have no proof the bugs were in the Vagabond Inn. No proof? We woke up to bug bites on our bodies, bugs in the bed and we took a bug to the office to show the manager the bug and filed a complaint. How is that no proof?
What I got was a nightmare, in the form of a physical, mental and financial toll. I would say, stay away from the Vagabond Inn, Hollywood. In my experience this is not a company interested in the well being of their customers.
They had bedbugs when I stayed there, if they still do, you could get bit, they could travel back to your home and ruin everything from your furnishings to your health.
If anyone has stayed at or knows anyone who did stay at the Vagabond Inn Executive, Hollywood California and had a bad experienece or had bugs in the room…please email me. I would like to hear your story, Thank you.
