Traffic is so intense in this part of town (combined with the major 405 construction project here) that humans replace stop lights during rush hour. Traffic police are stationed at a number of intersections for quite some ways away from the 405. The Luxe Hotel is a 7-acre oasis of calm – in this busy part of Los Angeles. It is located right off of Sunset Blvd next to the 405.
The reason I was here was to attend the latest meetup of LACOT with the focus being a presentation by Lisa of WeSaidGoTravel.com – she is in the middle of an indefinite RTW trip – this being a stopover on her way to Central America and her 18th straight month on the road. She discussed valuable practical information for how to take off on a trip of this length, logistics, health on the road, earning income abroad and budgets. This is not her first RTW trip! She co-authored a wrote book, Traveling in Sin based on her first year abroad several years ago.
The LACOT events are always valuable for PR, travel writers and travel bloggers – with nearly all attendees from the Los Angeles area.
