I’m Mary Kate, from West Cork in Ireland.
In 2019 I graduated from University College Cork with a First Class Honours degree in Business Information Systems. Here, I studied a range of topics including Web Development, Programming, Economics and Systems Analysis & Design. I was also an active member of the UCC Commerce Society.
I have corporate experience in the Professional and Financial Services industries. Here I learned a lot about Project Management, Data Analysis, Software Testing, IT Consulting and more. However, I craved more freedom and creativity in my work.
I began designing websites in Vancouver in August 2020. I was at a career crossroads and saw the pandemic (and lack of jobs at the time) as an opportunity to do something different. I originally worked with a marketing agency and gradually built up my skills and the confidence to go out on my own. From there, Mary Kate Web was born.
