Michael's first wandering was in his twenties following the impulse to drive his Land Cruiser from where he grew up in central Florida to the California coast. Setting out he had no time frame but only the two objectives of head west and stay on the smallest roads possible. After a couple of months of seeing wonderful open spaces and meeting amazing people he arrived in L.A. where he settled and is still his base camp. Now he promotes the concept of slow travel.
