- A Bit of Country is well worth the stop for breakfast. They are located at 418 South Indian Canyon Drive (south of Downtown) and are open from 6am to 2pm. If you get there before 7am, they have $5.95 breakfast specials. Restaurant is not large, inside and outside dining available – lightweight burnished aluminum chairs and tables on the outside.
Outside dining view is South Indian Canyon Drive and a hand painted mural. Parking in the back or along South Indian Canyon Drive. For more information call (760) 325-5154 - Billy Reed’s Restaurant is serves an American style cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So many restaurants come and go – not this one, they have been open since 1975 and advertise as having served over 25 millions meals!

- Cantala is located in the Riviera Resort at 1600 North Indian Canyon Drive and serves American cuisine using seasonal and local ingredients as much as possible. Cocktail attire. Reservations are suggested. Open for dinner only. They are closed on major holidays. Prices range from $15 to $37. (760) 325-7300

- Elmers is located at 1030 E Palm Canyon Dr. Open bracingly early at 6am daily – closes at 9pm. Part of a Northwest chain of restaurants (mostly in Oregon), the original Elmer’s was founded in 1960. This is the outlier restaurant in their franchise, perhaps the owners enjoyed vacationing in Palm Springs and decided to open a branch here.

- Gyoro Gyoro Izakaya Japonaise is a Japanese restaurant located at 105 S Palm Canyon Dr. Originally established in Tokyo in 1980 the franchise grew to over 150 restaurants in Tokyo.
They focus on a number of sushi and sashimi dishes made from fresh fish flown in directly from Japan. Well shaded courtyard and an outdoor bar that is well stocked with sake and craft beer. Phone (760) 325.3005
- Kaiser Grill features fresh California and South West Style food and is located at 205 S Palm Canyon Dr. A favorite with both locals and visitors.
Originally founded by the restaurant namesake Kaiser Morcus in 1992. Very much a family owned restaurant. Great diversity of options on the menu including fresh pizzas from their own pizza oven (they make their own dough). Reservations are suggested. - LG’s Prime Steakhouse is a family owned restaurant located at 255 S Palm Canyon Dr. They operate a second location in La Quinta.
First opened in 1991 by Leon and Gail Greenberg there focus is serving a variety of high quality steak cuts. While steak is their primary focus they do also offer select other dishes including lamb and fish. They also offer a remarkable wine list – one of the largest at any steakhouse in the area including plenty of big bold Napa Cabernet Sauvignons! - Moxie opened in the fall of 2016 at 262 S Palm Canyon Drive. Rooftop bar and lounge. Downtown.
Grass covered rooftop garden – outdoor lounge, soak in the views and play some games at the same time (cornhole is always better with a glass of something strong in your hand). California cuisine. - Mr. Lyons Steakhouse formerly Lyons English Grille is a 2 star restaurant serving American cuisine. Their prices range from $25 to $39. Casual dress. Reservations are suggested. They are located 1.5 miles south of East Tahquitz Canyon Drive at 233 East Palm Canyon Drive. They are open from 2/1-6/30 and 10/2-1/31 during the hours of 4:30pm until 10:30pm. Rated 2 stars. - Peabody’s Cafe and Bar is located at 134 S. Palm Canyon Drive and originally opened in 1992 as a coffee shop.
No longer just a coffee shop they serve a diversity breakfast, brunch and lunch items. Always seems to be busy in the mornings with guests enjoying breakfast. - Pho Vu is located at 285 S Palm Canyon Dr. Walking down the street and do a double take because you see there is a Vietnamese restaurant in Palm Springs. Nice! Also in La Quinta and Palm Desert.
Focus is on the pho (soups) but offers a variety of other Vietnamese cuisine. Reasonably priced dishes. Visit: www.phovurestaurant.com
- Riccio’s Restaurant is fine Italian dining at its best in Palm Springs. Located at 495 N Palm Canyon Dr. Fresh, fresh, fresh is the core philosophy here – they’ve been doing something right after being in business 30+ years! Originally founded by Richard and Patricia Riccio in uptown part of Palm Springs – their sons opened this restaurant more recently in downtown.

- Thai Smile, like the other 5 or 6 Thai restaurants in the area is nothing to write home about. This author has tried nearly all the Thai restaurants in Palm Springs as of 2016. The Thai restaurants in Palm Springs are not very authentic and the food tends to be a bit sweet. Thai Smile is located at 651 N. Palm Canyon Drive. (760) 320-5503. - Chicken Ranch is locaedin the shopping center called The Corridor at 515 N Palm Canyon Dr, just north of downtown.

- Zin American Bistro – American & Asian Fusion. Phone: (760) 322 6300. Sister restaurant of Alicante (as mentioned above). Located in the heart of downtown.
