Aaron Schat’s Roadhouse is located at 871 N Main St in downtown Bishop. Another one of a surprisingly number of restaurants in this part of the Eastern Sierra carrying the last name of Schat. Just up the street from the famous Erick Schat’s Bakkery.

Amigo’s Mexican Restaurant is located at 285 N Main St. Look forward to the chips and salsa – always a good introduction before the main course. Often a popular so for Socalian’s on the trek up the 395 to Mammoth Lakes.
You won’t go hungry here, the portions are quite large. Stop in, have a Negro Modelo kick back and enjoy good conversation with friends and family.
Astorga’s Mexican Restaurant is located at 2206 N Sierra Hwy – a few minutes north of downtown Bishop. This stand alone restuarnat is located right next to the highway – parking is on the side of the restaurant on See Vee Lane.
A plethora of appetizers to choose from as well as combination plates and dishes that are house favorites. On warm summer afternoons kick back in their back patio near the large tree. - Erick Schat’s Bakery is a local desert and gift shop. Some of the best Apple pies in California can be found here. This store is well-known and can be a very bustling place on popular holidays and weekends. Many times it’s bustling during a random weekday. Be sure to try some of their many varieties of breads.
Parking is in the rear and on the side, they are located on the west side of N. Main Street near the intersection of the 395 and Elm Street. La Casita is located on main street at 175 S. Main Street. This long time running restaurant focuses on basic Mexican fare- burritos, tacos, salads. During a recent visit service was incredibly quick from taking our order to when the food arrived. In and out Mexican food at least during our visit.

El Ranchito is located at 281 N Main St in downtown Bishop. Operates pleasing hours from 7am until 9pm – open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Family owned restaurant with recipes carried all the way from Nayarit, Mexico.
Welcoming to hungry travelers and locals alike. Plenty of indoor seating at tables or on comfortable bar stools. The cuisine combines AMEX – (American and Mexican food) – with some TEXMEX thrown in for good measure.
Holy Smoke BBQ is locate in the heart of Bishop at 772 N Main St. Was founded by a Texas couple, Steve and Patty Hollon. Steve spent 20 years perfecting his home BBQ cooking skills before he decided to open this restaurant.

Imperial Gourmet Restaurant is located in the center of Bishop at 930 N Main St. Located right next to the highway between Taco Bell and the Pizza Factory. Plenty of parking on the side lot next to the restaurant. Lots of space inside including table seating and bar seating. The Eastern Sierra is not a culinary hotbed for Asian food. Offers up a variety of traditional Chinese dishes including Mongolian Beef, Egg Drop Soup, Kung pao Chicken among others.
Jack’s Restaurant is located in the heart of Bishop at 437 N Main St. Features and old west feel with era decor. Very basic grub.
Offers a wide variety of very American food ranging from breakfasts (their popular corn beef mash), to soups and salads to a number of meat dishes for dinner. Reasonably priced throughout the day. Refreshing, they open early – really early mate – as in 6am. Get some grub before getting wet in those cricks while yo go after the fish. Long time restaurant in town.
- Mountain Rambler Brewery is located at 186 S Main St (plenty of parking in front of the restaurant and small shopping center). Looks quite unassuming from the outside – the windows face west and in the afternoon are highly reflective so one cannot see inside the restaurant. This has quickly become our go to restaurant when we are in town.
Offers an excellent selection of beers including several ciders. Seating is mostly tables – with some long tables present so you are seated next to other patrons. During a recent visit, nearly all tables were in use and after waiting in a decent sized line – we were pleasantly surprised when our food came to our table very quickly. One of the better restaurants we have experienced in the Owens Valley. Very good salads – recommended entree is the Bratwurst with homemade sauerkraut.

Petite Pantry is located just north of town along the main highway at 2278 N Sierra Hwy. From the name you might presume this is a cute little French bistro, but on closer look you will spy a Corona neon sign in the window and possibly a sign about Menudo. So, on the contrary they serve Mexican food.
A few parking spots are in the front along the main highway – some more are located along the side of the restaurant. Very tiny space. Known for their enchiladas and beef tamales.
Pizza Factory is located in the heart of busy Main street at times – at 970 N Main St. Part of a chain of restaurants – fits right in – in this location as they are just down the block from a McDonalds.
Began more then 30 years ago, they now have more then 100 locations on the West Coast – including one down Highway 395 in Lone Pine. They have a catchy slogan: “We Toss’em, They’re Awesome”. For more information, visit: www.pizzafactory.com/locations/bishop
Thai Thai Restaurant is features one of the more unique Thai restaurant locations – at tiny Eastern Sierra Regional Airport just east of Bishop (the only restaurant here). The airport is surrounded by sagebrush and is about 2 miles north of where acclaimed photographers and adventurers, Galen Rowell and his wife, Barbara Rowell were killed in a light plane crash in 2002. A very neat location for a restaurant. But back to the Thai Food.
Parking is in front of the main airport entrance – and the entrance to the restaurant is past the tiny pilot lounge. The restaurant has a feel of a cafeteria – the owner is Thai and for this fairly remote culinary location, the food is ok. We went in here expecting the worst as far as quality and were pleasantly surprised. Note that the kitchen may close before the stated closing hours. And also note the cook takes a several hour break between lunch to prepare for dinner so the restaurant is typically closed in the mid to late afternoon. Judging from the articles on the wall, the owner used to have a Thai restaurant in Hawaii. May not always be a host inside to seat you right away – we found some menus on one of the tables and seated ourselves.

Whiskey Creek at Bishop is located downtown at 524 N. Main Street. They serve American style cuisine and are rated 2 stars.

Yamatani Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar is one of Bishop’s longest running restaurants (having been founded in 1984). The oldest Japanese restaurant in town. Located directly on Main Street (Highway 395), it is very centrally located. Owned and operated by the Tani Family, the focus is on premium Japanese cuisine including Sushi.
The Sushi is sourced from the same suppliers that many of the high-end Sushi restaurants in Los Angeles use.

Whiskey is a shit hole since new owners just gets worse. Menu is random crap and the good things gone. And who the he’ll adds a pizza deal inside. Just insane. Also ruined Raymond’s deli when they took it over.
