I was in Iquitos last year around this time and had the good fortune of running into Carmina in the Plaza area in the main part of Iquitos. I am planning on returning to Iquitos early next year (2007) for a trip from Iquitos down the Amazon River into Brazil almost to the ocean. I will then make my way overland through Brazil, Uruguay and finally into Argentina.

Has anyone done this trip before (at least the part about going down the Amazon River) – and if so, what types of recommendations do you have. I appreciate any information you can provide. 😎
