St. George Utah – Recently we had a chance to visit St. George, a fast growing town located in Southern Utah – USA. With a town of this size, it has a plethora of amenities, shopping, and restaurants. Spread out among several valleys there is plenty of room within and surrounding St. George. Gorgeous red rocks are located above part of town and St. George is only about 40 miles from Zion National Park and then a bit further up to Bryce. With tons of outdoor activities including hiking and boating, a location that is 90 minutes from the Vegas strip, and weather that is fairly decent year round St. George is becoming a second home destination. Several high end gated living communities are located near the entrance to Snow Canyon, a state park. Snow Canyon is minutes from St. George and is worth checking out due to its beautiful red rocks, small sand dunes, black lava rock contrasted with the red rocks, and lots of hiking. There are even petroglyphs and old pioneer names which have been etched into some of the rock.

Also visit the Discovery Site at Johnson Farm which contains hundreds of dinosaur and other related tracks that have been preserved in rock. Hollywood has discovered this area – several movies have been filmed here recently including shots for The Flyboys, and High School Musical II. Also check out Tuacahn, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater set against the red rocks – home to concerts and other musicals. Lastly, there are 10 golf courses within the St. George area!
