Just returned from California’s great “eastern side” – entire length of the Owens Valley from Mono in the north to Lone Pine in the south and everything in between. This is a full body down suit made by Mountain Hardware used for sumitting 8000 meter peaks. I gave it a try on in Badwater, the lowest point below sea level in the western hemisphere and coincidentally the place of the hottest recorded temperature outside of one location in Africa. Furnace Creek officially hit 134 Degrees F (56.7C) in 1913 but Badwater tends to be a few degrees hotter than that! No that is not snow in this picture. It was 114 (45.6C) degrees out and that is an almost dry salt lake.
